Fashionistas Flock to German RieslingWines of Germany Pours Over 1200 Bottles During Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week February 15, 2007 As the sole wine sponsor of the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York, German wines flowed under the Tents for the country’s top style-makers. Over 2,400 Fashion Week attendees sampled German wines throughout the week, showcasing the growing popularity of German Riesling, and German wines in general, in the U.S. German wines were showcased under The Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tents in an Enomatic machine, a luxury automatic wine dispenser that was recently rated one of the “Top Tastes to Try in ‘07” by Food & Wine Magazine. Celebrities including top model Omahyra, actress Jung Hwa Eom, “Project Runway” finalist Laura Bennett and top style consultant and E! Network host Robert Verdi, as well as thousands of others U.S. trendsetters, visited the Wines of Germany Enomatic machine last week. German wines were also featured backstage in the W Hotel and Mercedes-Benz VIP lounges with notable personalities such as Nicole Ritchie, Russell Simmons, Patti La Belle, Anna Wintour, Bridget Moynahan, Cuba Gooding Jr., Britney Spears, and Cindy Lauper in attendance.
